Travel information

How to get to Pilsen

There are three main ways to get to Pilsen: by train, by bus and by car. Pilsen lies on the main railway line connecting Prague directly with Germany. Pilsen is also located on the D5 motorway linking Prague with Germany, making it easy to reach by car or bus.

Using train from Prague

This is the recommended mode of transport. Trains run hourly from Prague Main Station (Praha hlavní nádraží) and take about 70 minutes. The Pilsen Main Railway Station is called Plzeň hlavní nádraží (or Plzeň hl.n). A ticket costs around CZK 200. We recommend that you book your ticket in advance through the portal of the national railway company České dráhy.

If you are arriving at Prague Airport, the Airport Express (AE) shuttle service will take you directly to the main railway station. The AE station is located in front of Terminal 1, entrance F. The current fare is CZK 100 (EUR 4) and the shuttle runs every 30 minutes. The main railway station (Hlavní nádraží) is the terminal station of the AE - do not get off too early. The journey takes about 40 minutes in normal traffic conditions. Tickets can be bought by card. If you are coming from other parts of the city, the Main Railway Station is a stop of the red line "C" of the Prague metro.

To search for a train (or bus) connection online, use the page jizdnirady.idnes.cz.

Other means of transport

Alternatively, you can travel by bus. FlixBus operates a line from Prague - Zličín station to Pilsen - Central bus station. The Zličín station can be reached directly from the airport by Prague Public Transport bus no. 100.
